Second Nature is committed to accelerating climate action in and through higher education. While active members of the Climate Leadership Network get access to a range of network exclusives, there are many ways to get involved in our work to accelerate climate action.
The 2026 Higher Education Climate Leadership Summit, held in Chicago in March, was a resounding success, overflowing with collaboration and a shared commitment to this vital work.

At Second Nature, we convene multiple action-oriented hubs for innovation and exploration within our networks. These hubs unite a wide range of stakeholders to engage intentionally with issues, source and share solutions, and help drive our sector’s work.
The Offsets Lab is a container for experimentation and collaboration that directs higher education’s best assets to propel innovation and integrity in the carbon offsets space.
Second Nature’s working groups and stakeholder engagement initiatives are action-oriented hubs for innovation and exploration.
Partnerships are at the heart of what we do. A partnership with Second Nature is a mutually beneficial relationship. Our network of over 400 colleges and universities gives partners access to innovation, expertise, unique opportunities, and technical support.
Public policy can either advance efforts to combat climate change or hinder them. Second Nature aims to continue accelerating climate action by leveraging the strengths of the higher education sector, and advocacy in support of green policy initiatives is an important part of that work.
Second Nature hosts webinars and events, often with our partners, every year. This is another way we can provide information and resources relevant to the higher education community (and others who may be interested) regarding climate action.
