About Climate Leadership Network Signatories

Climate Leadership Network signatories are colleges and universities taking action on climate change and preparing students through research and education. Higher education institutions whose president or chancellor has made a formal commitment with respect to climate leadership on their campus by signing onto at least one of the Presidents’ Climate Leadership Commitments, become Climate Leadership Network signatories.

No other organization has Second Nature’s framework of accountability to accelerate climate action and help institutions meet their goals.

Presidents’ Climate Leadership Commitments

Each Climate Leadership Network signatory signs onto at least one formal Commitment with respect to climate leadership.

Shared elements of all three Commitments: integrating climate action in education curriculum, expanding research efforts, reporting, and creating and revising a climate action plan. Climate Leadership Network signatory institutions report on their yearly progress.

Become a Signatory in the Climate Leadership Network

Bold commitments to climate action by higher education leaders have a significant impact at their institution and beyond. Presidents or Chancellors must sign the Climate Commitment, Carbon Commitment, or Resilience Commitment to join the network.

After sending in your signed commitment, Second Nature will welcome the president or chancellor of your institution and share important resources for getting started. At that time, an Implementation Liaison will have to be appointed by your institution’s president or chancellor, to lead the reporting requirements for the commitment.
