style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All campuses interact with some form of external community and share resources across campus-community boundaries. It is not possible to be a resilient campus without being part of a resilient community.\u00a0 The Climate and Resilience Commitments require colleges and universities to coordinate resilience planning and implementation with the community.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many cities, towns, and neighborhoods already have resilience-focused efforts in place. Signatory institutions are not required to write a resilience plan for their town or city, but it is important to be aware of efforts happening in the community. Campuses should understand how the institution can align with and support municipal goals and progress, and vice versa. The map below is designed to help Climate and Resilience Commitment signatories find resilience-related resources in their region. The map lists the U.S. cities that are part of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.100resilientcities.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">100 Resilient Cities<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> network and institutions that have resilience programs, centers or initiatives. The map also includes city Resilience Plans.<\/span><\/p><p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/d\/embed?mid=1MxbgiSYauuqluNogJ551SlpRrl4\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Campuses may comprise the majority of a town\u2019s population and resources. If they have the capacity to do so, colleges or universities can choose to create a joint campus-community resilience plan that includes shared goals and indicators.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is up to each campus to set the boundaries of what they consider their \u201ccommunity,\u201d and to determine the best way to coordinate around climate resilience.<\/span><\/p><h2><strong>Resources<\/strong><\/h2><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/secondnature.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/CCStructures_v2.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Campus-Community Structures (PDF)<\/span><\/a><ul><li>The unique characteristics of the campus and community determine how to best create a joint structure and build resilience together.
